back on the bike
...and damn, does it feel good. got outside this afternoon for the first time in a long while. rode to the W&OD, then followed it out to the outskirts of leesburg. good riding, great day, lots of sun. 47 mi round trip.
getting out and riding long--for this stage, anyway--gives me huge motivation. and after being off my game the last couple of weeks, that feels great (also, this single workout managed to rescue my week from mediocrity on the time/points front). with the marathon approaching, I'll probably shift some of my running workouts to cycling. I know, run-specific training is better, but I need my knees to make it to (and past) the marathon fully functional. hopefully this will work well enough that I can get back on track with the rest of my scheduledlong runs.
okay, time to go eat lots of pasta/tuna/cheese. banana and a muffin for dessert :)
